SILVER CREEK - Richard L. "Dick" Edwards, age 68, of Silver Creek died Friday (June 12, 2009).
He was born April 1, 1941 in Dunkirk, NY, the son of the late Charles and Vivian (Beamish) Edwards.
Richard was a 1959 graduate of Silver Creek Central School, where he was president of his class and excelled in track.
He was employed by Petri Baking Co. in Silver Creek for 44 years, most recently in its laboratory.
An honorary member of Huntley Hose Fire Company in Silver Creek, he belonged to the Silver Creek Fireman's Assn.
Surviving are three brothers, Clifford (Christine) Edwards, David (Donna) Edwards and Alfred (Barbara) Edwards, all of Silver Creek; three sisters, Carol (Kasimer) Kowal of Angola, Mary Edwards of Dunkirk and Shirley Bohrer of Depew.
Several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and cousins also survive.
Richard loved spending time with his family and friends.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by one brother, Paul Edwards; one sister, Thelma Miller; two nieces, Brenda Edwards and Kathy Reynolds; one nephew, Paul Edwards; one
great-niece, Alesha Edwards; and one great nephew, Paul Reynolds.
Funeral services will be held Monday, June 15, at 10 a.m. from the Hole-Parker Funeral Chapel in Silver Creek. Interment will be in Glenwood Cemetery. The family will be present at the
funeral chapel from 7-9 p.m. today and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Sunday. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Silver Creek Emergency Squad, 162 Central Ave., Silver Creek, NY
