Donald and Patricia Hinkley of Gowanda were married 50 years on May 16. They celebrated their Golden Anniversary on a family cruise July 13-18, sailing from New York City, past the Statue of Liberty, to Saint John, New Brunswick and Halifax, Nova Scotia and back to NYC.
Traveling with them were their sons Kevin (Barbara) and Donald (Susan); also grandchildren William (Sarah) Haskas, Sean (Kristin) Hinkley, Meghan (Nicholas) Forcier, Ryan Hinkley, Kara Hinkley and Abby Hinkley; and great-grandson Lucien Haskas.
While on the cruise, the honored couple did a renewal of their marriage vows arranged by their family. Sons Kevin and Donald escorted their mother to the altar to join their father and the ceremony was performed by Captain Isidoro Renda of the Carnival Triumph ship. There was a reception afterward with champagne and a beautiful anniversary cake topped with two doves. The memorable occasion was enjoyed by all.
