Calling on manufacturers to participate in iPODs - Industrial, Possibilities, & Opportunity Days!!
The Chautauqua County Chamber of Commerce, Manufacturers Association of the Southern Tier and Manufacturing Technology Institute will formally launch and kick-off the "Dream !t. Do !t." campaign with iPODs - Industrial, Possibilities, & Opportunity Days!!
iPODs will be held on Friday, Oct. 16 and Saturday, Oct. 17 at the Jamestown Community College gymnasium as a high energy symposium style event. On Friday, the event will host students from the Chautauqua County School Districts from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and on Saturday the event will be open to the public from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The Dream !t. Do !t. is a Manufacturing Careers Campaign that reaches out to young adults, grabs their imagination by tapping into their passions and opens their eyes to the satisfying, high-paying careers available in manufacturing. Developed by the National Association of Manufacturers and The Manufacturing Institute, the campaign seeks to foster economic development and encourage robust growth by developing the skilled workforce necessary to fuel them.
Chautauqua County is the first county in the state of New York to participate in this successful campaign. Manufacturing is the largest contributor to economic growth in our nation and we want to work together to keep manufacturing careers alive in Chautauqua County.
Dream !t. Do !t. is an initiative led by the Manufacturing Technology Institute, the Chautauqua County Chamber of Commerce and the Manufacturers Association of the Southern Tier.

Chautauqua Belle to host 'Light the Lakes' fireworks fundraiser cruise
The Mayville/Chautauqua Chamber of Commerce and the Chautauqua Belle are joining forces to host a special cruise on Tuesday to raise funds toward the cost of the Mayville 'Light the Lakes' fireworks display to be held on Sunday, Sept. 6 at 10:10 p.m. at Lakeside Park in Mayville.
The cruise will feature dinner catered by the Athenaeum Hotel of Chautauqua Institution, music and a cash bar. The Chautauqua Belle will depart from its dock at Lakeside Park in Mayville at 6 p.m.
Tickets are still available at the cost of $50 per person and reservations can be made by calling the Chautauqua Belle at (716) 753-2355.
Join us on Tuesday for this very special evening benefit cruise on scenic Chautauqua Lake and help support the annual 'Light the Lakes' fireworks display in Mayville.
