Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office

  • SHERIDAN - Mia M. Stoll, 20, of West Sheridan Drive, Dunkirk was charged Sunday with making a punishable false written statement.

Deputies said on Sept. 22, Stoll reported a burglary had been committed at her residence and property valued at several thousand dollars had been taken.

The investigation discovered the property was not actually stolen and Stoll had made a false statement.

When questioned further, Stoll cooperated with the sheriff's office and she was issued an appearance ticket for Sheridan Town Court.

  • CHERRY CREEK - Evan G. Predmore, 25, of Cherry Creek was charged Sunday with driving while intoxicated, having .08 percent or more blood alcohol content and having an open container of alcohol in his vehicle.

Deputies said Predmore was stopped for speeding on Route 83 in Cherry Creek and the investigation led to the DWI charges.

He also was cited for the speeding violation.

  • CASSADAGA - Adam W. Hale, 26, of Jamestown was charged Sunday with third-degree assault.

Deputies and N.Y. State Police responding to a fight at the Cassadaga Kwik-Fill on Main Street, Cassadaga arrested Hale for allegedly punching an unidentified victim in the face causing a laceration and severe pain.

  • SHERMAN - Daryl K. Freeman, 40, of Sherman was charged Sunday with petit larceny and fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property.

Deputies said his arrest came as the result of a month-long investigation into the theft of a digital trail camera from a tree in Ripley. He was found to be in possession of the camera at his Sherman residence.

  • GREAT VALLEY - Phillip J. Slater, 27, of East State Street, Salamanca was charged Saturday with driving while intoxicated.

Cattaraugus County Sheriff's deputies investigating an accident on Route 83 in Great Valley arrested Slater, charing him with DWI, unlicensed operation, refusing to submit to a breath test and failure to maintain lane.

He was arraigned in Ellicottville Town Court and jailed in lieu of $500 bail.

  • FRANKLINVILLE - Jeffrey S. Dean, 30, of Lackawanna was charged Sunday with driving while intoxicated and unlicensed operation.

His arrest by Cattaraugus County deputies came after an investigation into an accident at the corner of Bakerstand and Rogers Roads in Franklinville.

  • CATTARAUGUS - Seven unidentified young people were arrested Sunday following a week-long investigation by Cattaraugus County Sheriff's deputies into a residential burglary in the Village of Cattaraugus.
  • A Little Valley youth was charged with second-degree burglary, petit larceny and fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property.
  • Two Cattaraugus youths were charged with second-degree burglary, fourth-degree criminal mischief, and petit larceny.
  • A third Cattaraugus youth was charged with second-degree burglary, petit larceny and second-degree criminal trespass.
  • A fourth Cattaraugus youth was charged with second-degree burglary, fourth-degree criminal mischief and petit larceny.
  • A South Dayton youth was charged with second-degree burglary and petit larceny.
  • An East Otto youth was charged with second-degree burglary, fourth-degree criminal mischief and petit larceny. They were issued appearance tickets for Family Court.

Silver Creek Police

  • A 17-year-old Bebee Road youth was charged on Sept. 23 with curfew violation. He was issued an appearance ticket to appear in Silver Creek Village Court on Oct. 14.
  • Amanda L. Nichols, 28, of Buffalo Street, was charged on Sept. 25 with second-degree harassment and resisting arrest. Nichols was arraigned in Silver Creek Village Court and remanded to Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of $1,000 cash bail. She is scheduled to return to court on Nov. 4.
  • Robert J. Mangus, 28, of Central Avenue, was charged on Sept. 25 with disorderly conduct. He was issued an appearance ticket to appear in Silver Creek Village Court on Oct. 14.
