Fredonia boys’, girls’ take home meet

Fredonia took both the boys' and girls' meets Tuesday at Lake Erie State Park, improving their records to 13-1 and 14-0, respectively.

The Hillbillies raced past Dunkirk, Silver Creek and Randolph, finishing the race with 16 points, one shy of a perfect score while the Marauders finished with 49, Silver Creek 76 and Randolph incomplete.

Alex Wills took first place with his time of 18:17 and was followed by teammates Chaz Mancino (18:19), Alex Crise (18:48) and Josh Szukala (18:55). Also for the Hillbillies, Mark Dudek took seventh in a time of 19:09 while Matt Meredith took eighth with his time of 19:44.

Dunkirk's top finisher was Kyle Zurawski, who took sixth with his time of 19:05. Also finishing for the Marauders were Tim Pauszek (ninth, 19:52), Jeremy Kozlowski (15th, 20:33), Jacob Jankowski (18th, 20:43), Ken Dill (20th, 21:08) and Nick Ahlstrom (23rd, 21:29).

Silver Creek was led by Jacob Capitano's 14th place finish, as he finished the 3.1-mile course in 20:27. Also for the Black Knights, Shane Sarline took 22nd in a time of 21:21 and was followed by Matt Rozewicz (24th, 21:31), Adam Tanner (25th, 21:33), Sam Myers (31st, 23:20) and Jake Hardford (33rd, 25:43).

In the girls' race, the Lady Hillbillies were able to finish with a perfect score of 15, as the top five finishers were all from Fredonia.

Alissa Conti took first with a time of 20:35 and was followed by Emily Wendell (20:50), Jessica Swoyer (21:39), Kaitlyn Marshall (21:51) and Samantha Wacenske (22:50). Also for the Lady Hillbillies, Lauren Reyda finished eighth in a time of 23:45 while Laura Poweski took ninth in a time of 24:00.

Dunkirk's lone finisher was Kristin Bunge, who took 11th in a time of 24:04. Silver Creek's finishers were Jordan Douglass (10th, 24:03) and Carol Pelz (16th, 25:21).
