Crash injures four

in Hanover

HANOVER - A two-vehicle crash Friday on Route 5 & 20 in Hanover injured four people.

Deputies said Lona J. Denisco, 37, of Silver Creek failed to stop at a red light and struck a vehicle operated by Kyle R. Markham, 22, of Portland.

The resulting impact caused the Markham vehicle to roll over.

Denisco and two of her passengers were taken to Lake Shore Hospital for treatment of what was described as non-threatening injuries. One passenger in the Denisco vehicle had to be extricated and was airlifted by Starflight.

Markham said he was not injured and refused medical treatment.

Denisco was charged with failure to yield the right of way and will answer this charge in Hanover Town Court.

  • PORTLAND - Two Portland residents were jailed Friday after deputies responded to a domestic disturbance on Dahlberg Road.

Officers said Kevin R. Lack, 22, was charged with two counts of second-degree harassment and second-degree menacing.

Christena M. Lavoice, 26, described as Lack's girlfriend, was arrested on an outstanding warrant.

According to the arrest report, officers said the couple got into an argument during which Lack allegedly punched Lavoice in the face.

She allegedly ran behind Jacob Lack, Kevin's brother, for protection.

Officers said Kevin grabbed a knife, placing it against Jacob's throat and threatened his life.

Kevin then dropped the knife and began punching Jacob in the face and head.

When deputies arrived at the scene, they saw Kevin run out the back door of the residence and run into the woods. They chased after him and took him into custody.

The investigation revealed there was an active warrant out for Lavoice and she was taken into custody as well.

  • BROCTON - Shawn D. Austin, 41, of Fredonia was charged Friday with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and inadequate brake lights.

Deputies said he was stopped on Old Mill Road in Brocton for the light infraction and the investigation revealed his license had been suspended.

The charges are to be answered in Brocton Village Court.

  • JAMESTOWN - Kelly A. Carlson, 21, of Stears Street, Jamestown was charged Saturday with reckless driving, speeding, failure to comply with emergency lights, passing in a non-passing zone and failure to stop at a stop light.

Deputies said Carlson was seen speeding on Fluvanna Avenue and when an attempt was made to stop her, Carlson attempted to elude officers by passing a vehicle on a blind curve.

She also ran a red light at a high rate of speed.

Carlson was stopped after a short pursuit and was found to be intoxicated.

Deputies also discovered she had an outstanding warrant out of the Town of Chautauqua.

She was committed to Chautauqua County Jail on $2,000 bail.
