Sparky the Fire Prevention Trailer visits Sinclairville Elementary
SINCLAIRVILLE - Members of Fredonia Fire Department's Fire Prevention Committee introduced Sparky the Fire Prevention Trailer to 220 students Pre-K thru 5th grade at the Sinclairville Elementary School.
Tim Burns, Ben Siracuse and Connor Purcell demonstrated the importance of fire prevention in the home by reviewing basic observation skills which the students have learned in the classroom.
Students were shown the hazards of the kitchen and living areas, including hot stoves, improper microwave use (no metal or foil), calling 911, candle safety, what to do if there is a fire, keeping stairways clear, proper care of smoke and carbon monoxide alarms, and exited Sparky by climbing down a ladder.
Fire hats were distributed to all who went through Sparky.
