POSTED: November 5, 2009

Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office

  • WESTFIELD - Brock Zampogna, 29, of Lakewood was charged Tuesday with felony driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, unreasonable speed, possession of alcohol in a motor vehicle and failure to maintain lane.

Deputies said he was driving west on Route 20 when his vehicle drove off the road and struck some shrubs.

The vehicle then crashed into a garage that was attached to the house and continued through the garage.

It finally came to rest near pine trees.

The crash caused extensive damage to the garage and the vehicle, deputies said.

Zampogna had to be freed from the vehicle and was taken to Westfield Hospital for treatment.

He was later airlifted to Hamot Medical Center in Erie, Pa., for further evaluation.

  • MAYVILLE - Jeffrey F. Lang Sr., 34, of South Erie Street, Mayville was charged with endangering the welfare of a child.

Deputies said they received a report from the Chautauqua County Child Protection Services that Lang was allegedly texting inappropriate things to a female juvenile.

The incidents allegedly occurred between Oct. 17 and Oct. 23.

Lang was arraigned on the charge and was released under the supervision of probation.

He is to appear in Chautauqua Town Court at a later date.
