Ronald A. Parks

Ronald A. Parks, 77, of West Main Road, Fredonia died unexpectedly Tuesday (Nov. 3, 2009) at Brooks Memorial Hospital.

He was born in Portland, NY on Sept. 27, 1932, the son of the late Charles and Mary (Barrett) Parks.

A Fredonia/Brocton area resident all his life, Mr. Parks was a U.S. Army veteran serving in the Korean Conflict as a corporal in the artillery division.

He was a retired electrician and member of Local 106 IBEW of Jamestown.

A member of the Brocton American Legion John W. Dill Post 434 and the Fredonia Beaver Club, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, traveling and especially spending time with his family.

Surviving are four sons Kenneth (Diane) Parks of Fredonia, Dale (Mary Lou) Parks of Brocton, Danny (Janice) Parks of Portland and Allan (Phyllis) Parks of Fredonia; eight grandchil-dren; and five great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Daphne Delcamp Parks, whom he married April 5, 1952 and who died Feb. 19, 2008; in-fant son William Parks; one brother, Robert Parks; and one stepbrother, Howard Parks.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009 at 11 a.m. from the Morse Funeral Home of Brocton. Pastor Kevin Connolly will officiate. Military services will be conducted-by the Brocton American Legion Post 434. Burial will be at the Portland Ever-green Cemetery. Friends are invited to call Thursday 7-9 p.m. and Friday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
