At the end of the Dunkirk Pier this afternoon, Congressman Brian Higgins announced the $1.196 million in federal funds contributed to the city's harbor are currently being put to good use as the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers conducts dredge work. Higgins was joined at the podium with City of Dunkirk Fire Chief and Chautauqua County Legislator Keith Ahlstrom, Second Ward Councilman Kevin Muldowney, County Legislator Robert Duff and Councilman at Large James Muscato.

"Right here in Dunkirk, Northern Chautauqua County, we have an extraordinary resource and through the work of the Army Corps of Engineers, we're ensuring that this remains not only an attractive place but a productive place as well," Higgins said in the brief news conference.
