Man injured in hunting accident
- An Amherst man was injured Wednesday in a hunting accident on Glasgow Road.
Deputies said Daniel Ohar, 60, was attempting to climb down from a tree stand when he stepped on a branch and the branch broke. He fell about 20 to 25 feet to the ground.
He was able to call 911 and assist rescuers in locating him.
Ohar was transported by Star Flight to ECMC for treatment of his injuries.
His status was unknown at the time the report was filed.
Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office
- ARKWRIGHT - Alan K. Elliott, 35, of Conewango Valley was charged Friday with driving while intoxicated, aggravated DWI and failure to stop at a stop sign.
Deputies said Elliott failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of Center Road and Bard Road in the Town of Arkwright.
He struck the stop sign then came to rest in a yard on Bard Road.
The investigation led to the DWI charges which are to be answered in Arkwright Town Court.
- KIANTONE - Daniel C. Lai, 40, of Allegany was charged Sunday with driving while intoxicated and having a blood alcohol content of .08 percent or more.
Deputies said he was stopped on Route 60 in the Town of Kiantone for crossing over the center line marking on the road.
The investigation led to the DWI charges.
He also was cited for failure to keep right and operating an uninspected motor vehicle.
- JAMESTOWN - Brian K. Wilson, 29, of Jamestown was charged Friday with driving while intoxicated, having a blood alcohol content of .08 percent or more and speeding.
Deputies said he was stopped on East Second Street in Jamestown for speeding and the investigation led to the DWI charges.
He is scheduled to appear in Jamestown City Court to answer the charges.
- HANOVER - Klarissa J. Foster, 19, of Silver Creek was charged Tuesday with disorderly conduct.
Deputies responding to a call from Angell Road Trailer Park for a disorderly individual found Foster in the driveway yelling obscenities and using obscene language in front of the other residents.
After several warnings, she was arrested and charged which are to be answered in Hanover Town Court.
- CHAUTAUQUA - Walter G. Pfleuger, 87, of East Main Road, Fredonia was injured Wednesday in an accident that took place on the Hartfield-Stockton Road.
Deputies said it crossed the road and struck a hedge row and crossed an area yard to eventually hit a tree.
He was taken by ambulance to Westfield Hospital and later was transferred to Hamot Medical Center in Erie, Pa., by Star Flight.
It is believed he may have suffered some type of medical issue.
No charges were filed.
- HARMONY - Andrew Zawisa, 39, of Jamestown was charged Wednesday with aggravated unlicensed operation and failure to stop at a stop sign.
Deputies responding to an accident at the intersection of Baker Street and Route 474 that was reported by a concerned citizen found Zawisa had failed to stop at a stop sign and struck a traffic sign before coming to rest against an earth embankment.
Officers found his N.Y. driver's license had been revoked.
He is to answer the charged in Harmony Town Court.
Gowanda Police
Michael Tierney, 33, of Gowanda was picked up Oct. 23 on an arrest warrant after entering the Gowanda Police Department. He was processed and transported to Cattaraugus County Jail.
Alysha R. Carroll, 18, of Evans was picked up Oct. 25 on an arrest warrant after turned over to police from a drug rehabilitation program. She was taken in to custody and was arraigned on the warrant.
Senee Mohawk, 19, of Lawtons was charged Oct. 25 with driving while intoxicated, failure to maintain lain, possession of marijuana and an open container of alcohol following a vehicle stop on Cayuga Road, Collins. Mohawk was scheduled to appear in Collins Town Court.
Dannette Buffalo, 34, of Salamanca was charged Oct. 25 with aggravated unlicensed operation and loud exhaust following a vehicle stop on Buffalo Street. Buffalo was scheduled to appear in Collins Town Court.
Gustave R. Kabuya, 29, of Buffalo was charged Oct. 31 with aggravated unlicensed operation and speeding following a vehicle stop on Aldrich Street. Kabuya was scheduled to appear in Collins Town Court.
Roland Baehler, 24, was charged Nov. 1 with resisting arrest, obstructing governmental administration and disorderly conduct after patrol responded to a reported disturbance call at a Buffalo Street address. Baehler was scheduled to appear in Collins Town Court for further process.
Two Gowanda residents faced charges Nov. 1 following a reported domestic call at an East Main Street residence.
Kaylee Stevens, 26, was charged with assault and criminal mischief after allegedly striking a victim with a hammer as well as striking the door of the residence.
Rodney B. Coulon, 34, of Gowanda was charged at the same time and location with third-degree assault after allegedly throwing a victim down a flight of stairs.
Stevens and Coulon were each scheduled to appear in Collins Town Court for further process.
Julian E. Matte, 51, of Gowanda was charged Nov. 1 with driving while intoxicated, aggravated DWI and failure to keep right following a vehicle stop on Jamestown Street. Matte was scheduled to return to Persia Town Court for further process.
Michael A. Orazio, 38, was charged Nov. 2 with speeding and no stop lights, and was also picked up on active warrant, following a vehicle stop on Jamestown Street. Orazio was turned over for arraignment.
Dennis A. Wallenburg, 46 of Salamanca was charged Nov. 3 with driving while intoxicated, driving in the center lane and unlicensed operation following a vehicle stop on Broadway Road. Wallenburg was arraigned in Persia Town Court.
Tiffany A. Reynolds, 38, of Gowanda was charged Nov. 4 with criminal mischief after allegedly causing damage to a victim's vehicle on Oct. 24 with a sharp object. Damage has been estimated at $1,290. Reynolds was released on a court appearance ticket.
Alvin L. Irizarry of Lawtons was charged Nov. 5 with aggravated unlicensed operation, suspended registration and a loud muffler following a vehicle stop on Broadway Road. Irizarry was arrested as above and his vehicle was impounded.
