ZEPHYRHILLS, FLA. - Mark R. Bradigan, age 84, of Powhattan Street, Zephyrhills, FL, formerly of Forestville, died unexpect-
edly Tuesday, November 10th, 2009 at his residence. He was born in Forestville, on August 19, 1925, the son of the late Floyd and Mildred (VanVlack) Bradigan. Mr. Bradigan served as a Sgt. with the 6th Division in the U.S. Army in
New Guinea & Lusan during WW II, earning the Bronze Star & Purple Heart. He worked as a
Hammer Operator for the former Allegheny Ludlum Steel Corp., Dunkirk and for the former Al-Tech
Specialty Steel Dunkirk, for over 30 years retiring as a Superintendent in 1982. Mr. Bradigan was a member
& past Commander of J. Carter Knapp American Legion Post #953, Forestville, a member of the
Zephyrhills Moose Club, the Forestville United Methodist Church and many other service & fraternal organizations. He
was a lifelong Republican and served as an elected official for both the Village of Forestville & the Town of
Hanover. Mr. Bradigan enjoyed participating in baseball, bowling, shuffleboard, golf, card games, singing
Barbershop, dancing & flower gardening. He also liked watching football, golf, baseball & almost any
other sport on TV. Mr. Bradigan was a devoted blood donor, giving over 10 gallons, and loved spending
time with his son's family and in later years with his companion Inge Behnke of Zephyrhills, FL. Survivors
include a son, Dr. Terry (Katie) Bradigan of Canaan, NH, a sister, Mrs. Raymond (Edith) Beck of
Irving & Zephyrhills, FL and a brother, Benjamin (Linda) Bradigan of Forestville. Also surviving are 1 granddaughter Ray Lynn
Bradigan of Bridgeport, TX, 1 grandson Zachary Bradigan of Bangor, ME and several nieces &
nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his wife Beatrice (Tanner) Bradigan, who died August 12, 1997, by 2
sisters Jenny Farnham & Florabel Majeske and by 3 brothers Clyde "Sharkey" Bradigan, Floyd John Bradigan and Neal Bradigan. Friends are welcome to call at the Riles & Woolley Funeral Home, 39 Main Street, Forestville on
Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Funeral services will be held from the Forestville United Methodist Church, 3 Park Street, Forestville on Friday morning, November 20th, at 11 o'clock, with Pastor Rebecca Ward, officiating. Interment will
follow in the Forestville Cemetery, Forestville. Graveside Military Services will be conducted by members of J. Carter Knapp American Legion Post #953, Forestville. The family suggests memorials may be made to J. Carter Knapp
