Hey You (A Tribute to Pink Floyd) brings their live Pink Floyd show to the Beaver Club, 64 Prospect St. in Fredonia, on Saturday from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. The band is bringing their light show and stage production, complete with a circular stage, and will feature the "Dark Side of the Moon" album in its entirety.
There is no cover charge and the show is open to the public.
The band has been playing the music of Pink Floyd live for three years and hopes to stand out among the rest of the other tribute bands. Hey You has played in dozens of cities throughout several states, in such large venues as the Riviera Theatre in North Tonawanda and most recently at the Clayton Opera House in Clayton, N.Y., of the Thousand Islands, and the Capitol Theatre in Rome, N.Y. The Beaver Club is the last stop on their Dark Side of New York 2009 tour.
"Right now we're regional, hoping to go national," Drummer Johnpatrick Filutze said.
The group is comprised of Bill Pfeiffer, bass guitar and vocals; George Root, lead guitar and vocals; Matthew Johnson, keyboards and vocals; Filutze, drums and vocals; and backup singers Maria Militello and Kristen Cichocki. All members are from the Buffalo area, with the exception of Filutze, who hails from Fredonia. Filutze found the band online after finding a Craigslist ad for a needed drummer.
"It's a very serious matter for us," Filutze said of their Pink Floyd performances. "It looks like 2010 is going to be a really good year for us."
The band is represented exclusively by Top Shelf Entertainment and Back 2 Back Entertainment Group. For more information, visit www.heyyoutribute.com or e-mail pink@heyyoutribute.com.
