CARTS expands grocery runs to include P&G Foods
MAYVILLE - Chautauqua Area Regional Transit System (CARTS) has just announced that an additional grocery run is now available to Dunkirk residents who may need transportation to their local supermarket.
Chautauqua County Executive Gregory J. Edwards said, "CARTS is now providing a grocery run to P&G Foods in Dunkirk on Tuesdays with a pickup between 11:15-11:45 a.m. and a return at 1 p.m. Drivers will assist customers to the door of their residence by carrying groceries if needed."
Edwards reminded county residents that CARTS is providing the grocery runs at no additional cost to the system, and that they are able to provide a reduced fare if trips are scheduled during designated days and times.
According to Cheryl Gustafson, Senior Project Coordinator, the service is open to the public and may be scheduled by calling the CARTS office.
The current schedule also provides service on Mondays to the Mayville Quality Markets and on Tuesdays to the Westfield Quality Markets. Jamestown area residents can go on Tuesdays to Farm Fresh Foods, Quality Markets, Tops, Wegmans, Aldi's or Walmart. Dunkirk area residents can also go on Tuesdays to Walmart, Aldi's, Quality Markets or Tops.
Designated times for each store have been set up and may be scheduled by calling CARTS at 665-6466, 366-4500 or 1-800-388-6534.
