Robert A. "Kelly" Krzy-zanowicz of Dunkirk
passed away Sunday morn-ing (Nov. 29, 2009) at
Brooks Memorial Hospital surrounded by his loving
family after a courageous battle with cancer. He was
58.Robert was born in Dun-
kirk on Sept. 30, 1951, the son of Norman and Eliza-beth (Stranz) Krzyza-
nowicz of Dunkirk. He graduated from Dun-
kirk High School in 1969 and then served his country
as a member of the United States Army from 1971 to
1972. After his honorable discharge, he returned home to work at Ralston
Purina from which he re-tired in 2005. He also
worked briefly for Lorenzo International after his re-
tirement. Bob was exceptionally
proud of his five grandchil-dren and always looked for-
ward to spending time with them. He was a parishioner
of Holy Trinity Church and a member of the First Ward
Falcon Club. An avid Cleveland
Browns fan, he spent many years as a bowler in numerous leagues and also
played softball for the Dun-kirk Falcon Club, for which
he was a past officer and life member.
Besides his parents, Bob is survived by his wife of 39
years, Judy (Polichetti) Krzyzanowicz; his son, Robert N. Krzyzanowicz of
Dunkirk; two daughters, Kimberly (John) Lanski of of Dunkirk and Denise
Krzyzanowicz of Wilming-
ton, NC; five grandchil-dren, Abigail and Grayson
Krzyzanowicz, Troy and Jack Lanski and Elliana
Barfoot; three sisters, Su-san (Timothy) Gor-nikiewicz, Nancy Krzyza-
nowicz and Sharon (Robert) Kokocinski, all of Dunkirk; and many nieces
and nephews.Funeral services will be
held Thursday morning at 9:15 from the McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 o'clock in Holy Trinity
Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Friends
are invited to call Wednes-day from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may
be made to Hospice Chau-tauqua County or Roswell
Park Cancer Institute.
