Jonas U. Williams

Jonas U. Williams, age 29 of Burning Springs Road, Versailles, died unexpectedly Sunday morning, December 20, 2009 at the TLC Health Network Emergency Room, Lake Shore campus. Born a member of the Beaver Clan on July 28, 1981 in Buffalo, N.Y., the son of Kelly Lewis of Versailles and the late James Williams. (James passed away August 10, 2003). Jonas worked at the Painted Pony Post family business on Burning Springs Road in Versailles. He was a 1999 graduate of Lakeshore Central School. An avid snowsnake player and also enjoyed playing la-crosse.

Surviving besides his mother is a son, Jonas Williams; his fiance, Samantha Mohawk; two sisters, Naomi Lindgren and Stacey Williams; a brother, James Williams; his maternal grandmother, Maxine Smith, all of Versailles. He is also survived by his paternal grandmother, Phyllis Bardeau of Steamburg, and by several nieces and nephews.

Besides his father, he is also preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Eugene Smith, and his paternal grandfather, Chuck Williams.

Friends may call at the Schindler Funeral Home, 44 Center St., Gowanda, N.Y., from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today, where services will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. Interment in the family cemetery Burning Springs Road, Versailles.
