SOUTH DAYTON - Powered by 21 points from Nikole Lindquist and 18 points from Carly Swanson, the Pine Valley Lady Panthers (7-0, 5-0) eased past the Brocton Lady Bulldogs (0-4, 0-4) 70-19, Wednesday in Division 3 girls' basketball.

The Lady Panthers came out swinging with a 22-2 first quarter. Pine Valley then outscored Brocton 16-5, 15-8 and 17-4 during the next three quarters.

Jillian Brunswick tossed in 10 points with seven steals while Emily Clapp added eight steals. Alex Smith pulled down 13 rebounds while Lindquist grabbed eight. Morgan Stearns scored nine points and dished out five assists for the Lady Panthers while Allison Nobles had four assists.

Cynthia Ferguson paced the Lady Bulldogs with 11 points and six steals while Rachel Walls had five boards.

Pine Valley will play at Maple Grove on Jan. 5 and despite their perfect record, coach Tim Nobles said the Lady Panthers still have some things to touch up.

"We need to work on passing and really need to work on getting position and rebounding," Nobles said. "This is the first time in two years we have quite a bit of time off. We will sit back enjoy it and kind of recuperate and get ready for the next run."
