James Joseph Lasecki of 28 Pine St., Dunkirk, NY, died Sunday (Dec. 27, 2009).

He was born on Dec. 3, 1947 to the late Laurence and Angelina (Majka) Lasecki and was a lifetime member of St. Hyacinth's Church in Dunkirk, NY.

Mr. Lasecki graduated from the Dunkirk School System and attended Erie Community College. Then Joseph served in the U.S. Army where his tours of duty were in Germany and Vietnam. He had worked for True Temper until it closed in 1985 and then pursued his education through the BOCES LPN course. After graduation, Joseph was hired as an LPN Charge Nurse at the Absolut of Westfield.

Also in 1985, he married Jonie (Penkaty) Sheldon and raised four children. During his lifetime, he cherished the time he spent with his wonderful children and grandchildren.

He was a past member of the First Ward Falcons, Dom Polski, Kosciuszko and the Moniuszko clubs as well as the Knights of Columbus. In 1973, Joseph became a past member of the Citizen's Hose Company #2 in Dunkirk, NY.

He was an avid pool player for Sara's Tavern and the old Jail House through the Dunkirk and Fredonia Pool League. Also, he liked gardening, fishing, hunting and water sports.

Besides his wife of 24 years, Joseph is survived by his son, Brian (Carolyn) Sheldon of Forestville, NY; and his three daughters, Amy Sheldon Tiller of Leon, NY, Jessica Sheldon Tolbert of Cassadaga, NY, and Bobbi Jo Sheldon of Dunkirk. His beloved grandchildren, Keith, Larry, Sean, Nickole, and Christopher Sheldon, Lance Sheldon and Joy Tiller, Beth Tolbert, Kaitlin Sheldon and Logan Connors; and also many nieces and nephews survive him. He will also be missed by his best friend and neigh-bor, Kevin Kundla.

Besides his parents, Joseph was predeceased by two brothers, Robert and David Lasecki; and his dog and companion, Maggy.

Family and friends are invited to call at the Fantauzzi Funeral Home, 82 East Main Street, Fredonia, NY on Saturday, Jan. 2, 2009 from 10:00 - 11:00 AM. The Funeral Service will be held at the Fantauzzi Funeral Home beginning at 11:00 AM, with the Rev. C.J. Westfield, pastor of St. Anthony's Church in Fredonia, NY, officiating. All arrangements have been en-trusted to the Fantauzzi Funeral Home, 82 East Main St., Fredonia, NY.
