MAYVILLE - Two Jamestown residents have been charged with welfare fraud.
Brenda Harriger, 43, of Second Street was charged with third-degree welfare fraud, first-degree offering a false instrument and misuse of food stamps.
She allegedly failed to report to social services that a member of her household was receiving unemployment benefits.
Because of this, she received $6,059 in benefits she was not entitled to.
Maurice Daniels, 63, of Allen Street, was charged with misuse of food stamps for allegedly failing to report to social services that he was receiving unemployment benefits.
Because of this, he received $957 in benefits he was not entitled to.
The charges placed against both are to be answered in Jamestown City Court.
Silver Creek Police Department
James D. Hohman, 47, of Eden was charged Jan. 1 with failure to keep right, failure to maintain lane, driving while intoxicated, operating above .08 blood alcohol content. Hohman was issued tickets to appear in Silver Creek Village Court on Jan. 20.
Gowanda Police Department
Two North Collins residents were charged Dec. 27 following a reported domestic call at a Buffalo Street address.
Daniel J. Smith, 25, was charged with disorderly conduct and harassment. Dara E. Nephew, 22, was subsequently charged with disorderly conduct after she reportedly became aggressive with police as they were arresting Smith. Both were scheduled to appear in Collins Town Court.
Tammy S. Davis, 30, of Gowanda was picked up Dec. 29 at a North Water Street residence on a warrant issued by the village of Perry for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. She was transported to Perry and turned over to authorities.
Michelle D. Bazluki, 43, of Gowanda was charged Dec. 31 with driving under the influence of drugs/alcohol, failure to maintain lane and failure to produce a license following a vehicle stop on Jamestown Street. Bazluki was scheduled to return to Persia Town Court for further process.
Colan Martin, 34, was charged Jan. 1 with unlawful possession of marijuana after he reportedly walked into the police department smelling of marijuana. Martin reportedly possessed a metal marijuana pipe containing residue in his pocket. He was subsequently arrested and released on an appearance ticket to Collins Town Court.
David Dadzie, 30, of Collins was charged Jan. 1 with unlawful possession of marijuana and no license plate light following a vehicle stop on Sandhill Road. A computer check also revealed Dadzie to have an active warrant from Lackawanna Police, to whom he was turned over following the above charges.
Jasper Lee Wolfe, 32, of Collins was charged Jan. 1 with unlawful possession of marijuana and an open container of alcohol in his vehicle following a vehicle stop for a reported traffic complaint. He was released on an appearance ticket to Collins Town Court.
Sean E. Munday, 21, of Ashville was charged Jan. 2 with unlawful possession of marijuana and no headlights following a vehicle stop on Jamestown Street. He was released on an appearance ticket from Persia Town Court.
