Dan and Katie (Cadden) Smith of Bemus Point recently celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary with a private party held at their home. Out-of-town guests from Endwell, N.Y., and maid of honor Madeline Morganti attended.
They were married on Jan. 10, 1970 at SS Peter and Paul Church. Rev. Thomas Byers officiated.
The Smiths have two children, Christina McVeigh and Shawn Smith, and three grandchildren.

Mr. Smith is vice president and owner of Plantrol Systems in Westfield. He is a member of Rotary, Westfield Memorial Hospital Foundation, a board member of WIB and treasurer of the Bemus Bay Dock Club.
Ms. Smith is the executive director of the YWCA in Westfield. She is a 2001 graduate of the Chautauqua Leadership Network, a member of the board of directors of The Resource Center and a member of the JCC alumni association.
