Man indicted on Fredonia homicide

District Attorney David W. Foley has announced that Jason Wells, 37 of 60 Temple St., Fredonia, has been indicted on one count of second-deggree murder for the early February death of Ruth Fisk at One Temple Square in the village of Fredonia.

Wells was arraigned by Chautauqua County Court Judge John T. Ward. He was sent to the Chautauqua County Jail with bail set at $750,000 cash or $1.5 million real property. A pre-motion conference has been set for March 22.

If convicted of the charge Wells faces a minimum of 15 to life and a maximum of 25 to life in state prison.

Mr. Foley commended the village of Fredonia Police, the Chautauqua County Sherriff's Office and the Forensic Investigation Team for their hard work and quick response.
