PTA craft night a success

March 11, 2010
The OBSERVER

NORTH COLLINS - North Collins Elementary School PTA hosted family craft night on Feb. 12. The night was coordinated by Dawn Campbell, PTA treasurer, and included the making of several craft items with a Valentine's Day theme. All children received door prize raffle tickets and got a chance to win one of 20 books all with a Valentine theme.

The students and parents got to decorate picture frames and heart shaped sugar cookie cut outs or cupcakes. After the decorating several students decided to eat their creations or give them to a parent or sibling for Valentine's Day.

Other crafts included creating a Valentines' necklace, lollipop flowers with heart shaped petals and creating your own heart man with fold up legs and arms or other creature.

The event drew approximately 75 children, parents, grandparents and community members. Everyone enjoyed the evening and got into Valentine's Day.

Family Reading Night is planned for March 15.
