Mr. and Mrs. Marvin (Frances) Smith celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on May 8 at their home on Versailles Road in Silver Creek. The celebration was given by their son, Gregory, his wife, Gail, and friends, with congratulations and good wishes from their other son, Jeffrey, who resides in Florida.
Marv and the former Frances Kiser of Shrewsbury, Pa., were united in marriage on May 6, 1950 at the Turnpike Baptist Church in Hungerford, Pa. They then moved to Marvin's hometown of Silver Creek, where they have resided for the past 59 years.
