In the 1990s, the town of Dunkirk went through a building boom of sorts. Additional department stores began to spring up around Vineyard Drive and on parts of Bennett Road. The town gets good tax revenue off these properties. But snowplowing in the town is nowhere near efficient. To plow all five miles of town roads, drivers must travel 42 miles.
