Fredonia

Village seeks more revenue

July 19, 2010
The OBSERVER

Those looking to make repairs to their roofs in the village of Fredonia have been put on notice.

Last week, an item in our Community Notebook noted those having roof work done must check with the village inspector's office first. "This will be strictly enforced by the Building Inspector's Office," chief inspection officer John Monaco stated.

Strictly means there will be fines levied against those homeowners looking to improve or repair their homes in the village. These same homeowners, by the way, are also being hit with higher village taxes, water fees and sewer rates in the coming year.

Those fines are just one more revenue stream Fredonia needs to continue what trustees like to boast about - its village services.

By the way, Fredonia residents, the release also said very politely, "please call 679-2313 for any questions or concerns."
