Miss Tidioute 2010 crowned at pageant

Two Tidioute girls walked away with crowns Saturday evening as the Pennsylvania State Championship Fishing Tournament Committee held its first Teen Miss Pageant in conjunction with the annual Miss Tidioute Pageant. Alexis Morrison was crowned Miss Tidioute 2010 by Sasha Lewis, Miss Tidioute 2009. Morrison, who was escorted by Kyle Kysor, played the flute for her talent. The other Miss Tidioute contestants included: Lisha Bupp, escorted by Michelle Cantrell; and Megan Walters, escorted by Jesse Yashanski. Bupp was named Miss Congeniality and received the People’s Choice Award. Morrison received the award for best essay. Desiree McChesney was crowned the first Teen Miss Tidioute. Escorted by Teddy Russell, McChesney also received the best essay and People’s Choice awards. Her talent was singing and playing the guitar. Also in the running for Miss Teen Tidioute were Samantha Lopresti, escorted by Travis McLaughlin; Peyton Hittie, escorted by Caileb Singer; and Tanya Krouse, escorted by Daniel Howell. Hittie was named Miss Congeniality. All contestants were presented with participation gifts donated by the several area businesses. To help raise money for the Teen Miss/Miss Tidioute Pageants, 50/50 Raffle Tickets will be sold Sept. 24-26 at the Pennsylvania State Championship Fishing Tournament grounds. The drawing will take place on Sunday Sept. 26.
