An accident early Monday morning claimed the life of a 49-year-old Evans man. Ronald Wattie was attempting to walk across Route 5 when he was struck by a Lake Shore Central School bus, according to Town of Evans Police.
The bus was attempting to make a left turn from Revere Drive onto Route 5 when it struck Wattie. Wattie was transported to lakeshore Hospital in Irving where he was pronounced dead.
The accident remains under investigation by the Town of Evans Police Accident Investigation Unit.
