The board of directors of the Share and Care Seniors are planning a Thanksgiving party to be held Saturday, Nov. 20, at the Fredonia Beaver Club. Doors will open at 3 p.m. for card players. The social hour will begin at 3:30 p.m. with hor sd'oeuvres and CD music playing old-time favorite songs for listening and dancing pleasure.
At 5 p.m., the Beavertail Caterers will serve a traditional Thanksgiving buffet dinner with the following menu: turkey, stuffing, ham cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, gravy, squash, tossed salad and dressing, rolls and butter, pumpkin pie with whipped topping for dessert. Beverages include coffee, tea and fruit punch. A cash bar will be available for other beverages.
At 6 p.m., quarter Bingo will be played with 10 $5 cash prizes. The price of admission to the party is $5 for Share and Care members and $10 for non-members (includes $5 cost of membership - include date of birth and telephone number).
All seniors over age 50 are welcome. People under age 50 may join as associate members. $5 memberships are presently being accepted for the year 2011 with credit given for the remaining year of 2010. Members in arrears are encouraged to re-register with no penalty. Make checks payable to Share and Care Seniors and mail to P.O. Box 446, Fredonia, NY 14063. Paid reservation deadline is Friday, Nov. 12.
Board members encourage all seniors to get out and socialize - do not be afraid to come alone. There is always someone to sit with and keep company. Share and Care photo albums dating back to 1994 will be on hand for all to enjoy. For more information, call President Dorothea Janczak at 673-1049.
