Mr. and Mrs. Dean H. Temple

Mr. and Mrs. Dean H. Temple of Fredonia celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with a family party at the Shorewood Country Club in Dunkirk. Mr. Temple and the former Margaret Noelle Geyer were married in the Caldwell, N.J., Methodist Church by the bride's father, the Rev. Curtis B. Geyer, and the groom's uncle, the Rev. Horace Pittman on Aug. 26, 1950. A reception followed in the church hall, a former pastorate of Rev. Geyer.

Mr. Temple worked for the YMCA for 22 years and retired from the Chautauqua County Board of Environmental Health. Mrs. Temple worked in various libraries, taught social studies at Maple Grove before coming to Dunkirk schools. She taught at all the elementary schools her first year and the junior high in the afternoon. She retired from the Dunkirk Middle School.

They are very active in their church, Meals on Wheels and the Pomfret Senior Center.

They have four children, nine grandchildren and one great grandchild. The two pastors had served in the 147th Field Hospital along with Dean's father but had not met since they were mustered out. They were all graduates of Ohio Wesleyan University, Delaware, Ohio.

The couple's children are: Kimberley (James) Briggs of Dunkirk; Todd (Diane) Temple of Tonawanda; Marcia (Stephen) Fuller of Peru, Maine; and Cheryl (Richard Jr.) Saville of Bergen, N.Y.

The event was also the 34th anniversary of the Fullers.
