WCA Home selects Resident/Employee of the Month

December 10, 2010
The OBSERVER

A Silver Creek native whose job history included work with the insurance industry has been named the WCA Home's December Resident of the Month. Sandra Lilley, a longtime employee of the David Glenn Insurance Agency, received her honor in a photo ceremony shortly after Thanksgiving.

Raised in Silver Creek, Lilley was a Silver Creek High School graduate and continued her education taking insurance-related courses at SUNY Fredonia. She is the mother of four children (Mark, Steven, Raymond and Denise) and the proud grandmother of three.

As a member of the WCA Home family since June 2010, she has found a relaxing environment in which to complete word puzzles, continue her crocheting and maintain her collection of lighthouses. Attending musical programs and enjoying special parties are among Lilley's favorite activities at the WCA Home.

WCA Home December honorees Sandra Lilley and LPN Michelle Lynden.

"I love the great home-cooked meals," she commented, "and it's a joy to be with my good friends where I feel safe and well cared for!"

LPN Michelle Lynden joins Lilley as the WCA Home's December Employee of the Month. A member of the WCA staff since May 2010, Lynden is a Fredonia native and graduate of Fredonia High School. She supplemented her education with BOCES LPN training in 1990, and is currently enrolled in the Jamestown Community College RN program.

Lynden's daughters, Christine and Deanna, are the love of her life and she delights in sharing her precious dogs with them. In more temperate weather, Lynden enjoys motorcycle rides and is a proud collector of angels.

The WCA Home is "like my second home," she notes. "I love the staff and ladies and this facility. Everyone is so very nice to work with and for."

The WCA Home, www.wcahome.org, has 37 private residence rooms for both respite and long-term care in a spacious and fully renovated Victorian home providing adult women of any religious denomination with quality living, safety, companionship and comfort.
