Melinda Jean McElheny and Amir Hafiz Jamil were united in marriage on Oct. 9, 2010 at St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church in Hinsdale, Ill. The ceremony was performed by Father Stephen Eickoff.
The bride is the daughter of Marti and Michael McElheny of The Villages, Fla., formerly of Fredonia. The groom is the son of Dr. Mohammad and Sampaguita Jamil.
The bride was escorted by her parents. She wore a diamond white satin charmeuse full-length gown with ruching and pickups, beading on the bodice and down the train with crystals, along with a corset back. She carried a full bouquet of fuchsia, and white and light pink roses.

The maid of honor was Sarah Brown of Rockville, Md., friend of the bride. Bridesmaids were friends of the bride Julianna Doerzaph of Shawsville, Va., Valerie Orrico of St. Louis, Mo., and Molly Golden Esq. of Chicago, Ill.; sister of the groom Dr. Annisa Jamil of Seattle, Wash.; and sisters-in-law of the groom Danielle Jamil of Downers Grove, Ill., and Candice Jamil of Chicago. Honor attendants wore full-length A-line euro navy satin gowns with ruching and pick-ups and carried a bouquets of fuchsia and light pink roses. The flower girl was Zara Jamil, niece of the groom.
The best man was Mark Jamil of Chicago, oldest brother of the groom. Groomsmen included friends of the groom Raj Maitra of Miami, Fla., Dr. Vinit Joshi of Orange County, Calif., Jonathan Chappell of Prioria, Ill., and Andrew Gibbs of Washington, D.C.; Marvin Jamil Esq. of Downers Grove, Ill., brother of the groom; Dr. Trent Treadway of Seattle, Wash., brother-in-law of the groom; and Mark Jamil Jr. of Chicago, nephew of the groom. The ring bearer was Alexander Jamil, nephew of the groom.
The reception was held at the Sabre Room in Hickory Hill, Ill.
The bride graduated from Cornell University with a BA in human factors and ergonomics and Virginia Tech with an MS in industrial and systems engineering.
The groom graduated from the University of Illinois (Urbana/Champaign) with a BA in political science. He also graduated from Loyola University of Chicago Graduate School of Business with an MBA concentration in marketing and finance.
The couple honeymooned in Kauai, Hawaii, and reside in Chicago.
