Twenty years ago - 1991

The Benjamin Prescott Chapter of the National Society, Daughters of the American Revolution, held its 92nd birthday luncheon at the Quality Inn Vineyard. Winners of the Good Citizens Contest were presented with pins, certificates and monetary awards. The winners and their schools are: Robert H. Smith, Brocton; Jerri L. Carson, Cassadaga; Allison C. Dolan, Westfield; Christine E. Kaus, Dunkirk; and Charles A. Sagona, Fredonia.

Thirty years ago - 1981

Five years of floods and long waits at railroad crossings are enough for David H. Smith. He is moving his building supply business from Anne Street in Sunset Bay, where it has been for five years, to a new structure at Routes 5&20 and Buffalo Road in Irving. The new building for Smith Building Supply is four times larger than the present store.

Forty years ago - 1971

A new business has been established in the village of Fredonia and is now open. The new Carroll's Restaurant is owned and managed by James Pinzer.

Fifty years ago - 1961

S-5 Samuel F. Fricano, son of Mr. and Mrs. Marion Fricano of Silver Creek, has been accepted for admission to the Advanced Bandmaster Course at the Army Element, U.S. Naval School of Music in Washington, D.C.
