Masood wins four events

FRANKLINVILLE - The Fredonia Hillbillies (6-3) boys' swim team used their meet against the Franklinville Panthers to switch up their usual line-up and the result was a 73-29 CCAA Division 1 Fredonia victory in which Eric Masood was a quadruple winner.

Masood individual win came in the 100-yard butterfly (1:07.17) and he was a member of three first place relays. The 200 medley relay consisted of Masood, Reed Porterfield Daniel Thompson and David Moore (1:58.41) while the 200 freestyle relay members were Masood, David Moore, Jacob Brown and Shane Murphy (1:44.82) and the 400 freestyle relay won with Masood, Moore, Murphy and Vincent Ippolito (4:04.47).

In addition to his 400 freestyle relay win, Ippolito touched the wall first in the 200 freestyle (2:11.09) and was the winner of the 500 freestyle (6:11.87). Along with three relay wins with Masood, Moore took second in his individual event, the 50 freestyle (0:25.99).

Porterfield added to his first place total with an win the 100 backstroke (1:09.25) and finished second in the 100 freestyle (0:58.30). Thompson also ended the meet with two firsts and one second with a win in the 100 breaststroke (1:19.00) and a second in the 50 freestyle (0:25.87).

Other finishers in the top three for the Hillbillies, Mark Dudek won the 200 individual medley (2:31.20), tied for second in the 100 backstroke (1:15.58), and was a member of the second place 200 medley relay with Ethan Jones, Ryan McCormick and Jacob Brown (2:05.84), Jones took first in the 1-meter diving (165.98 points), was a member of the second place 400 freestyle relay with Brown, Zach Brooks and Noah Rankin (4:23.75), and was a member of the third place 200 freestyle relay team of Jacob Maslak, Nick Vecchio and James Hobbs (2:17.43).

Additionally, Murphy placed second in the 200 freestyle (2:12.62), Brown was second in the 200 IM (2:58.08), Rankin came in second in the 100 breaststroke (1:19.40) and Brooks placed third in the 100 butterfly (1:24.01.).

Fredonia hosts Panama today in a make up game.
