Heritage Ministries seeking former Children’s Home residents for reunion

February 25, 2011
The OBSERVER

GERRY - In May, Heritage Ministries will celebrate its 125th year of existence. The official 125th anniversary celebration will take place on May 13 and 14. Heritage Ministries was incorporated in 1886 as The Gerry Homes. Founded by Bishop Walter A. Sellew, it began as an orphanage and adult home.

One of the events scheduled for the weekend in May is a reunion of former residents of the original Children's Home. The Children's Home Reunion will be an opportunity for the community to connect with adults who previously lived at the Children's Home. Lunch, interviews with former Children's Home residents, and a special speaker will be the feature of this event.

Heritage Ministries is looking for any former residents who would be interested in celebrating this historic occasion. If you were a former Children's Home resident or have information, contact Becky LeBaron at 985-6830 or rlebaron@heritage1886.org.
