Katrina Rene Mackowiak and Michael William Cox were united in marriage on Aug. 14, 2010 in Dunkirk. The wedding took place at St. Hyacinth's Roman Catholic Church at 2:30 p.m. Father Michael Parker performed the ceremony. Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Clarion Hotel in Dunkirk.
The bride is the daughter of John and Valerie Mackowiak of Dunkirk and the granddaughter of Esther Mackowiak, also of Dunkirk. The groom is the son of William and Louise Cox of Atlanta, Ga., and the grandson of Barbara Bush of Hudson, N.H.
The bride wore an ivory-colored lace-over-charmeuse gown with a halter neckline. Delicate beading embellished the trumpet-style gown with a chapel length train. Her bouquet included roses and assorted flowers in varying shades of pink and green.

The maids of honor were Jillian Mackowiak of Buffalo, sister of the bride, and Bridget Mackowiak of Dunkirk, sister of the bride. The bridesmaid was Carol Cox, sister of the groom, of Atlanta. Bridesmaids wore satin, watermelon-colored, tea-length gowns and carried bouquets of light pink roses and assorted flowers.
Serving as best man was Jason Novak, friend of the groom, of Atlanta. Groomsmen were friends Jeffrey Benton and John-Michael McCracken of Atlanta and John Mackowiak, brother of the bride, of Buffalo.
Kimberly Mackowiak of Dunkirk and Jessica Cox of Berlin, Mass., both did scripture readings at the ceremony. Music for the ceremony was provided by Tim and Jeannine Van Wey of Dunkirk.
Mrs. Cox is a 2001 graduate of Dunkirk High School. She earned her bachelor of science degree in accounting from the State University of New York College at Geneseo. She is employed at Georgia Pacific as a senior accountant.
Mr. Cox is a 1997 alumnus of North Gwinnett High School. He earned his bachelor's degree from Georgia Southern University in business administration. He works in sales at Standard Office Systems in Atlanta.
The couple honeymooned in Paris, France. They currently reside in Atlanta.
