St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish will host Carol Mullins of Quiet Whispers Ministry of Western New York for a Lenten evening of reflection on Thursday, April 14, at 7 p.m. in the church. The topic is entitled "Desert Wanderings: How God uses our struggles to make us his own."
The evening reflection will be centered around the scriptures of the Old Testament.
"God," Mullins says, "never wastes our afflictions. So how do we know that He is with us during the desert times? The Hebrew people experienced God's presence every day while wandering in the desert. What was God teaching them? How was He using their experience to teach them to trust? God has done the same thing in our lives. During the evening we will examine how God leads each of us through our personal deserts and how He is still teaching us today to trust Him."
Mullins uses inspirational speaking and biblical storytelling through her gift of song. Her musical meditations are the vehicle she uses to bring to life the Bible texts.
All are welcome to attend this evening of reflection in song and scripture.
Following the presentation, there will be refreshments in the Rectory meeting room. There will be an opportunity to meet Mullins and to review her many CDs.
