41 usual FredFest suspects arrested

Like moths to the flame, college-age kids once again attracted to downtown life in Fredonia.

Over the weekend, the SUNY Fredonia campus held its 31st annual FredFest celebration for students. The event gives students a chance to kick back and relax by taking part in some of the on-campus activities including live musical performances.

This year's main act was Andrew McMahon, lead singer, songwriter and pian-ist for "Jack's Mannequin," who played before the Steele Hall Field House crowd on the SUNY Fredonia campus Saturday night.

Given the mild temperatures and sunny atmosphere on Saturday plus the shear popularity of the event equated into a large contingent of college-age people in downtown Fredonia.

Unfortunately, and as expected, the event produced a number of arrests by the Village of Fredonia Police Department totaling 41.

Thursday arrest:

Mark Grunden, 19, of Fayettville was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana.

Friday arrests included:

Kristina Dercole, 21, of Penfield was charged with driving while intoxicated and operating a motor vehicle with .08 of 1 percent or more alcohol.

Austin Cornatzer, 20, of South Carolina was charged with disorderly conduct obscene language and gestures and resisting arrest.

Lance Ellis, 25, of West Main Street was picked up on a valid arrest warrant for assault.

Cameron Jobe, 20, and Ryan Carney, 19, of Olean were both charged with unlawful possession of marijuana. Jobe was also charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and unlawful possession of alcohol for a person under 21, while Carney was also charged with drinking in a car while on the highway.

Zachary Fitzer, 20, of Wisteria Drive was charged with endangering the welfare of a child.

Brett Bramer, 19, of Springville was charged with public urination.

Kristen Beaver, 20, of North Collins was charged with unlawful possession of alcohol for a person under 21.

Pat Maher, 19, of Lakeview was charged with unlawful possession of alcohol for a person under 21.

Martin Wenzel, 24, of Mayville was charged with violation of an open container.

Paul Shepard, 20, of Almond was charged with unlawful possession of alcohol for a person under 21, littering and violation of an open container.

Kyle Haller, 19, of Frewsburg, Tyler Sam, 18, of Spring Street and Garrett Neel, 17, of Falconer were all charged with unlawful possession of alcohol for a person under 21.

Colby Rotach, 20, of Auburn was charged with unlawful possession of alcohol for a person under 21.

Scott Hartrich, 20, of Lancaster was charged with unlawful possession of alcohol for a person under 21, littering and violation of an open container.

Craig Wean, Michael Leshley, 21, Rejean Archambealt, 21, and Matt Grabowski, 21, of Center Street were all charged with violation of a noise ordinance.

Saturday arrests:

Christopher Cozzens, 19, of New Jersey and Brian Frank, 19, of Ripley were both charged with disorderly conduct fight and violent behavior.

Jenn Gilbert, 43, of Rochester was charged with petit larceny.

Nicholas Ventrilla, 21, of Lewiston was charged with violation of an open container.

Cory Loomis, 20, of Chautauqua Hall was charged with unlawful possession of alcohol for a person under 21 and violation of an open container.

Megan Kait, 22, of Maple Avenue was charged with littering and violation of an open container.

Lauren Hazelet, 21, of Kenmore was charged with violation of an open container.

Addison Auge, 20, of Clymer was charged with operating a motor vehicle without insurance.

Jose Montos, 21, of Bronx was charged with public urination.

Anthony Costello, 20, of Rochester was charged with unlawful possession of alcohol for a person under 21 and violation of an open container.

Nick Nardowski, 18, of Lakeview was charged with unlawful possession of alcohol for a person under 21, littering and violation of an open container.

Keli Smith, 20, and Cassandra Conway, 18, of Mayville were both charged with unlawful possession of alcohol for a person under 21 and violation of an open container.

Kelsey Garraski, 18, of Angola and Jessica Mitchell, 17, of Derby were both charged with unlawful possession of alcohol for a person under 21 and violation of an open container.

Anthony Macaluso, 19, of Leroy was charged with unlawful possession of alcohol for a person under 21.

Sunday arrests:

Greg Minchak, 19, of Webster was charged May 1 with criminal possession of stolen property.

Norman Chudy, 19, of Orchard Park and Garrett Wrazen, 19, of Lancaster were both charged with unlawful possession of alcohol for a person under 21 and violation of an open container law.

Kyle Mitchell, 23, of West Main Street was charged with littering and violation of an open container.
