Holy Trinity Senior Citizens

The Holy Trinity Seniors met at the Parish Center Hall at noon on Thursday, May 12. The table had a bright yellow tablecloth with a large galvanized watering can which held a colorful array of flowers. Doris LaSpada set up the table and made the coffee. Lunch consisted of members' own lunches and coffee was provided. The same program will be done for lunch next month except Doris LaSpada and President Rita Lombardo will be the refreshment committee and will provide dessert.

After lunch, Lombardo called the meeting to order, she said grace and a prayer before lunch. She led members with the Pledge of Allegiance. Secretary Josie Wierczynski read the minutes of the previous meeting. They were accepted as read by Marian Genovese and seconded by Doris LaSpada. Treasurer Mary MacKenzie read the financial report. They were accepted and approved by Phyllis Farrell and Mary Jane Wise.

Election took place with the following results: President Lombardo, Vice President La Spada, Secretary Wierczynski and Treasurer MacKenzie.

MacKenzie collected the $5 dues for the year.

The club made a motion to purchase a brick for the Serenity Garden in the name of the Holy Trinity Senior Citizens - this is pending. Some of the activities the group is considering are: playing cards, Bingo, games and movies. A movie was viewed after the meeting and all members enjoyed it. The club is going to pick a refreshment committee for each month. Some members are considering to visit the sick. Some of the events being planned are a summer picnic, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner.

The next meeting will be June 16. The Holy Trinity Seniors always meet the second Thursday of the month at the Parish Center Hall. There is a front door to the center that is handicapped accessible. New members are always welcome. The club has three new members: Florence Barone, Ann Schlichter and Mary Jane Wise.

The members received a thank-you card from Frances Oddo's family.

The 50/50 raffle was won by Ann Schiers, Wise, Genovese, Farrell and Barone.
