JAMESTOWN - Lillian V. Ney and Carole B. Faulk have been appointed to the Jamestown Community College board of trustees by the Jamestown City Council.
Dr. Faulk, who served on JCC's human services faculty from 1981 to 2003, earned a bachelor's degree at Millersville University and master's and doctoral degrees at the University of Pittsburgh.
During her tenure at JCC, Dr. Faulk served as chair of the social sciences and business division and coordinator of the human services program. She received JCC faculty awards for teaching and leadership and was a recipient of the State University of New York Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Teaching in 2000.
Dr. Faulk was instrumental in developing JCC's human services program curricula as well as establishing relationships among JCC and SUNY Fredonia, and SUNY Buffalo to enhance academic opportunities in social work for area students.
Dr. Faulk is a founding member of the Chautauqua Area Adult Day Care Centers and served as interim director of SUNY Fredonia's social work degree program. Earlier in her career, she served in a variety of clinical experiences in Pennsylvania and West Virginia.
Dr. Ney served previously on the board from 1990 to 2001, and served as board chair from 1994 to1998. A retired cardiologist, Dr. Ney earned a bachelor's degree at Wells College and a medical degree at SUNY at Buffalo. She is the former medical director of Heritage Park Health Care Center, Jamestown Area Medical Associates, and WCA Hospital.
A former president of the Gebbie Foundation board of directors, Dr. Ney was a member of the Jamestown Board of Public Utilities, Chautauqua Institution and Wells College board of trustees, and the Jamestown Strategic Planning and Partnerships Commission. She is a member of the Jamestown City Center Development Corporation, Holy Family School, Roger Tory Peterson Institute, and Jamestown Renaissance Corporation boards of directors.
