Ladies Society Blessed Mary Angela Parish
The Ladies Society of Blessed Mary Angela parish held its monthly meeting Tuesday at the social center.
President Carole Schiller welcomed the members and offered a prayer.
The society observed a moment of silence for recently deceased member Bernice Zebracki.
Reports were given by Secretary Jenny Naruszewicz, Treasurer Joan Zielinski, Financial Secretary Dorothy Sarzyniak and Sophia Urbanik, sunshine committee.
The officers of the society will host a picnic in August at the social center. All members will be contacted about the upcoming event.
Dorothy Sarzyniak concluded the meeting with the recitation of a poem titled "Recipes for Living."
Homemade strawberry shortcake was served from a buffet table covered with a pink cloth with a white lace overlay centered with a wicker basket filled with an assortment of fresh fruit.
A raffle was held and many prizes were awarded. Zielinski won the fruit basket.

Holy Trinity Seniors
The Holy Trinity Seniors met at the Parish Center Hall on June 9 at 12:30 p.m. President Rita Lombardo decorated the yellow tablecloth with a variety of colored flower pots and flowers adorned with a butterfly. Birthdays were celebrated by the following members, Dolores Campbell (May), Josie Wierczynski and Marian Genovese (March) and Mary Dunbar (June).
The members welcomed back Mary Dunbar and Lenny and Alberta Catalano, who are celebrating their 65th wedding anniversary on June 14.
Lombardo said Grace and recited a poem.
Members enjoyed their own bag lunch. Dunbar brought a lemon cake and a salad which she shared with members.
Secretary Josie Wierczynski read the minutes of the previous meeting, which were corrected and approved.
Florence Barone and Mary Jane Wise were guests at the last meeting which was May 12.
Treasurer Mary Mac Kenzie read the financial report; it was approved by Dunbar. The seniors are anticipating a purchase of a brick in the Serenity Garden. They are planning to attend the Holy Trinity family picnic on July 17; therefore there will be no meeting on July 14. The next meeting will be on Thursday, Aug. 11 at 12:30 p.m. The club is also planning some activities after the meetings, such as Bingo, movies and cards.
The refreshment committee for Aug. 11 is Dunbar with pizza, and Campbell with provide the cake.
The next meeting names will be picked for the next refreshment committee.
There will also be a Halloween party on Oct. 13. The location will be announced later.
New members are always welcomed. Meetings are held on the second Thursday of every month.
