Runge was voted MVP for the Power Kickers while Hunter Hattaway was named MVP for Lewis Construction.

Forecon Firebirds 2, 96 Kix Country Stars 2 — Johnathan Brockelbank scored two goals for the Firebirds while Hayden Myers and Drake Pierce scored for the Starts.
Brockelbank was voted MVP for the Firebirds while Mikayla Fishgold took home MVP honors for the Stars.

Lanphere Auto & Truck Repair 6, Griffith Energy 0 — Kolton Gibbons and Steven Biggers each scored a pair of goals for Lanphere Auto & Truck Repair while Nicholas Russo and Kynan Egan tallied a goal each.
Jayden Moore-Johns was voted MVP for Lanphere Auto & Truck Repair while Ashleigh Anthony was MVP for Griffith Energy.

Storer’s Container Cyclones 1, Veracity Benefits 0 — Matt Brockelbank scored the lone goal, with the assist going to Isabella Ruiz. Josie Comstock picked up the shutout in net for the Cyclones.

Fifth Annual Cameron Run
The Fifth Annual Cameron Run will be held Saturday, Aug. 13. The race/walk benfits the Ronald McDonald House Charities.
There will be a 5K run, as well as a 2-mile walk, which will begin at 9:30 a.m., at Point Gratiot, in Dunkirk.
Awards will be given at the completion of the race, along with a brunch for all participants.
The cost is $15 for adults ($20 after July 31) and $10 for children under 18.

DHS/Mindszenty/FHS 2nd Annual Golf Tournament
Shorewood Country Club will once again be the site for the Second Annual DHS/Mindszenty/FHS Golf Tournament, which will be held Friday, Aug. 12.
The tournament, which will be a best ball format, will begin at 9 a.m., with a shotgun start. Both men’s, women’s and mixed teams will be accepted.
The cost is $75 and includes golf, cart, lunch, beverages and a dinner buffet. For those wishing to attend just the dinner portion of the event, the cost is $22. A cash bar will be available at 2 p.m., with dinner set for 3. There will be a trophy and prize presentation following dinner.

Kickball vs. Cancer
Kickball vs. Cancer, a charity kickball tournament, will take place Sunday, August 14 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Allen Park in Jamestown. Teams must have at least nine players, with two girls playing at all times. Additional rules will be provided at the time of the tournament.
The fee is $150 per team with proceeds going to the Stephen Pangborn and Willie Hayes funds.

The Dunkirk-Lakeshore USBC Association will meet Thursday, July 21 at 7 p.m. at the First Ward Falcon Club on 341 Lake Shore Drive East, Dunkirk.
The agenda includes the final report of tournament, financial report, membership, election of officers and any other business properly presented.

Nathan George Softball Tournament
Squire Whites and the Nathan George Foundation announced The Third Annual Nathan George Memorial Co-ed Softball Classic will be held Saturday, Aug. 13 at Promenschenkel Stadium and the School No. 7 softball field, beginning at 8 a.m.
Teams will compete for the championship title with cash prizes awarded to the top two teams. All teams will be guaranteed a minimum of two games. All players must be over the age of 16 to participate.
New to the tournament this year will be a free baseball and softball clinic for children ages 9-12. Children are required to bring a glove, cleats and hat. The clinic will start at 10 a.m.
Also new this year is the Kids Korner sponsored by Pride & Joy Child Care. This service is being offered to the children of team members while playing their scheduled games. The Kids Korner is free of charge and will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. It will feature arts, crafts, games and activities supervised by adults. Children of non-players are welcome if accompanied by an adult.
Food and beverages will be available by Don Bennice, Franklin Honey and Apples, Boston Hotel Steak and Crabhouse, Willow Creek Winery, Coughlin’s and 41 West. All events are family-friendly and will feature music by Dynamite Sound, bounce house by Pump It Up, face painting, 50/50 drawings and appearances by the Buffalo Jills. An awards celebration will take place at 41 West immediately following the tournament.
On Friday, Aug. 12, the Fredonia Beaver Club and Beaver Tail Catering will host a Chinese Auction/spaghetti dinner, beginning at 4 p.m. Take-out dinners will be available. Live music by “Last Call” will take place from 8 to 11 p.m.
All proceeds will benefit The Nathan George Foundation, Inc. which helps support sports programs within Northern Chautauqua County as well as awards annual scholarships to athletes at Fredonia, Dunkirk, Brocton and Silver Creek High Schools

Tour of Chautauqua Bike Ride
The 28th annual Tour of Chautauqua Bike Ride will be held on Saturday, Aug. 13, originating and finishing in front of the Eason Hall, 23 Elm St. Westfield, N.Y. The mass start begins at 9 am. Water and refreshment stops and sag wagon services are provided. Helmets are required. Recreational tours of courses of 25, 40, 62, 75 and 100 miles are offered, with a meal at the finish.

Fredonia State Hockey Camp
There are still openings available for the Fredonia State Blue Devils Pride On Ice hockey camp, which will take place Aug. 22-26, at the Steele Hall Ice Arena.
The camp is open to boys and girls ages 5-12.

Muay Thai Event
On Aug. 20, fight promoter partners, Castricone and RIPT MMA join forces to present,”The Redemption” Muay Thai Kickboxing bouts.
The event is scheduled to be held at the Chautauqua County Fairgrounds with doors opening at 5 p.m.
Several local competitors will be on the card, including Fredonia’s own, “Smokin’ Joe Pagan,” as the main event.
The lineup will also consist of his son, Joey Pagan III, Cody Felt, as well as others from our area, Pennsylvania, Buffalo, Rochester, Ohio and Canada.

Charity Event

Sugar Hill Golf Course and Girls4 Golf Tuesday Night League will sponsor a charity golf tournament.

Sugar Hill Golf Course is an official site for the Susan G. Komen "Rally for the Cure" Breast Cancer Golf Tournament. This year's organizers of the golf tournament are the Girls4Golf Tuesday Night Ladies League from Sugar Hill. The League is committed, with great enthusiasm, to host the Rally for the Cure on Tuesday, Aug. 2, at Sugar Hill. Rally for the Cure is a grassroots organization that works to spread awareness about breast health and breast cancer in support of Susan G. Komen for the Cure through volunteer organized golf, tennis and dining events.

The nine-hole, two-person scramble is scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 2 with registration at 4:30 p.m., with a shotgun start at 5:15 p.m. A $20 entry fee entitles participants to several gifts and prizes from the Komen for the Cure along with hole prizes, raffle prizes and other surprises. Green fees, carts and a lite dinner are additional.

Gowanda Men's Softball Tournament

The 15th annual Gowanda Men's Slow Pitch Tournament will be held Saturday, July 30. Each team is guaranteed three games with the top two teams playing for the championship. Batters will start with a 2-1 count. A Home Run Derby will also be held. Entry fee is $100 per team. Tournament proceeds will benefit the Gowanda Youth Soccer Program.
