Rachel Barbaritz of Clarence and Nicholas Barter of Dunkirk were united in marriage on May 22, 2011 at Kloc's Grove in West Seneca. The Rev. David Marzak performed the double-ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of William Barbaritz and Kathleen Barbaritz of Clarence. The groom is the son of E. Lawrence and Pamela Barter of Fredonia.
The bride's sister, Kaitlynn Barbaritz served as the maid of honor. Bridesmaids included Susan Barbaritz, sister of the bride; Ashley Kelkenburg of Scottsdale, Ariz., friend of the bride; Brittany Glovins of Cheektowaga, friend of the bride; Kathryn VanValkenburg and Elizabeth Barter, both sisters of the groom. Emma VanValkenburg, niece of the groom; and Dakota Reynolds, family friend; served as flower girls.

The best man was Richard Lundberg, of Randolph, friend of the groom. Ushers included James Barter, brother of the groom; Dale VanValkenburg, brother-in-law of the groom; Ben Aldrich, Jared Meyer and Thomas Fuest; all friends of the groom. Sean Kuebler, cousin of the bride, served as the ring bearer.
The reception was held at the Kloc's Grove garden pavilion in West Seneca. After the wedding, the couple celebrated their honeymoon in Walt Disney World in Florida.
The bride is a graduate of Clarence High School in 2004. She earned her bachelor's degree in English from SUNY Fredonia and graduated from the JCC nursing program in 2011. She is a nurse at Brooks Memorial Hospital.
The groom is a 2003 graduate of Fredonia High School. He is a firefighter for the City of Dunkirk Fire Department.
The couple resides in Dunkirk.
