Kathleen Margaret Hite and Nicholas Michael Sard were married on May 29, 2011 at the Hall of Philosophy in Chautauqua Institution, Chautauqua. Barbara Brown performed the ceremony, while music was provided by friends of the couple Christopher Sclafani on acoustic guitar and Kurt Wissing on vocals.
The bride is the daughter of Ronald and Margaret Hite of Lakewood. The groom is the son of Michael and Dawn Sard of Panama.
The bride was escorted down the aisle by her father. She wore a floor-length gown of ivory silk taffeta and carried a bouquet of white roses and yellow alstroemeria. She wore a glass flower pin in her hair that once belonged to her late grandmother, Doris Guertin.

Laura Scheid, sister of the bride, was the matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Elizabeth Burgeson, sister of the bride; Rachel Steffen, friend of the couple; Amanda Sard, sister of the groom; and Jennifer Sard, sister of the groom.
Kurt Wissing, friend of the couple, was the best man. Groomsmen were friends of the couple Sean Ebert, Darren Saulsgiver, Carl Linamen and AJ Gugino.
Brother of the bride, Kristopher Hite was the bridal attendant. Jessica Stewart and Ashley Sandberg gave readings during the ceremony. Flower girls were the bride's nieces Caroline Scheid and Emily Scheid, and Evelyn Montagna, cousin of the groom. Ring bearers were the bride's nephews Charles Hite and Matthew Hite, and junior ring bearer was Oliver Burgeson, nephew of the bride.
The bride and groom are both 2005 graduates of Panama Central School. They each received their bachelor of science in biology in 2009 from the State University of New York at Fredonia. Mrs. Sard received her master's degree in teaching from SUNY Fredonia in 2010, and is pursuing a career as a high school science teacher. Mr. Sard received his master of science degree in biology from SUNY Fredonia in 2011, and he is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in fisheries genetics at Oregon State University.
The couple honeymooned in Islamorada, Fla., and they reside in Toledo, Ore.
