Mr. and Mrs. Paul R. Szukala, formerly of Fredonia and currently of Hilliard, Ohio, announce the engagement of their daughter, Christine M. Szukala, to Gregory E. Thayer, son of James E. Thayer of Mt. Zion, Ill., and Rene A. Thayer of Hilliard.
The bride-to-be, a 2007 graduate of Hilliard Darby High School, is presently attending Columbus State Community College and working as an assistant manager of GNC.
A 2002 alumnus of Hilliard Darby High School, SPC Thayer, US Army, is currently deployed to Afghanistan.
