From left: great-great-grandmother Julia (Luine) Bozich, great-grandmother Monica (Bozich) Westlund, grandmother Elaine (Westlund) Herberger, Elaine's daughter Emily (Herberger) Simone and Madison Simone, born July 10, 2011. The Luine and Bozich families originally immigrated from what is now known as Slovenia to the Gowanda area in 1911. Julia, now 96, spent most of her life in the Gowanda area, as did Monica, who is now retired in Collins with her husband Richard. Elaine, Emily and Madison reside in Amherst with their families.
