SHERMAN - The Chautauqua County countryside will be bathed in fire and lights this Saturday night, when the fire spinners and dancers will entertain the closing night of Night Lights at The Heron. A troupe of performers from Spun Out Fire Productions will feature numerous fire spinners and dancers, belly dancers and a DJ to perform the final night of the seasonal tourism attraction.
"We can't think of a more visually stimulating way to close our season than with fire spinners serving as the entertainment," said Doug Sitler, operator of Night Lights at The Heron. "In our third season, we've seen more visitors experience Night Lights. Our attendance continues to grow, so we're already looking forward to next year."
Night Lights at The Heron is a unique outdoor light show attraction that is set throughout the forests and ponds of an organic farm called "The Heron," where guests walk a one-mile series of paths through a forest that is transformed with theatrical lights, art and sound installations using different colors and tones inspired by the natural world. Night Lights is a one-of-a-kind attraction in North America.

Located in Sherman, The Heron is a private 200-acre rural property that is home to the Great Blue Heron Music Festival (celebrating its 20th consecutive year this July) and Green Heron Growers, a certified organic farm. Night Lights utilizes the property's extensive network of trails, ponds, and buildings, including the charming Cafe in the Woods. Night Lights and an interactive lighting design company, Volt Vision, Inc. are the artistic directors of the eco-tourism attraction.
Visitors to Night Lights at The Heron should expect an hour-unguided walk through the smooth trails that traverse the property. Guests are encouraged to bring flashlights for a few dark sections of the trail. Along the way, visitors will experience different lighted scenes that correspond with the forest's natural environment and artistic light installations. In some cases, music is used to enhance the experience. Guests will also pass by the Cafe in the Woods, which is where they can purchase organic pizza, select beverages, homemade cookies, T-shirts and other merchandise.
