City police investigating robbery and assault

The City of Dunkirk Police Department is investigating a report of a robbery where the victim was assaulted inside a residence on North Martin Street at approximately 6:50 p.m. on Oct. 12. The suspects in this case were described as black males in their 20s.

The Dunkirk Police Department has an ongoing investigation continuing at this time and requests that anyone with information on this case call the confidential tip line at 363-0313 or the Police Desk at 366-2266.

Residents are reminded that if you see or hear anything out of the ordinary in and around your neighborhood to please call 911 or 366-2266 right away with the information.

Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office

PORTLAND - A Westfield man was charged Thursday with possession of stolen property after he was found to have a stolen all-terrain vehicle.

According to the Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office, a 2002 polaris 400 Sportsman ATV was reported stolen from a residence on Webster Road on Aug. 23. Angel L. Rivera, 27, of Westfield, was charged with felony fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property after he was seen operating the ATV on a trail near Swede Road a week after it was reported stolen. An investigation led to Rivera's arrest.

Rivera was arraigned in the Town of Portland Court and was committed to the Chautauqua County Jail without bail.

Cattaraugus County Sheriff's Office

PORTVILLE - An Olean man was stabbed and robbed in an incident Thursday,

According to the Cattaraugus County Sheriff's Office, Shawn Wright, 27, of Olean was walking westbound on the railroad tracks in Weston Mills toward Olean around 11:30 p.m. when he was attacked from behind, stabbed in the neck with a knife and robbed of his personal belongings.

Wright was transported to ECMC for his injuries. The Sheriff's Office is continuing its investigation of the incident.

Silver Creek Village Court

Linda Douglas, 54, of Lake Avenue, Silver Creek had her charge of harassment second dismissed.

A 17 year old Babcock Avenue, Silver Creek boy pleaded guilty to a curfew violation and was fined $75.

David J. Chesbro, 21, of Andrus Circle, Silver Creek pleaded guilty to dog at large and was fined $50.

Anthony V. Firman, 22, of Forestville, was arraigned on aggravated unlicensed operation. He returns to court Dec. 7.

Jon E. Gonzalez, 27, of Dunkirk was arraigned for aggravated unlicensed operation and returns to court Dec. 7.

Thomas M. Kiley, 36, of Irving was arraigned on a charge of assault third. He was released on his own recognizance and will appear in court Nov. 2.

Dennis M. Moquin, Jr., 39, of Burgess Street, Silver Creek was arraigned on two counts of harassment second and criminal trespass. He was released on his own recognizance and returns to court Dec. 7.

A 17-year-old Irving youth pleaded guilty to an ABC violation and was fined $75.

A 16-year-old Main Street, Silver Creek boy was arraigned on harassment second and will return to court Nov. 2.

Paul Syracuse, 43, of Gowanda was arraigned on 12 charges of property maintenance violations for Buffalo Street, Silver Creek. He returns to court Dec. 7.

A 16-year-old Main Street, Silver Creek boy was arraigned on an ABC violation and comes back to court Nov. 2.

Eileen Torres, 32, of Dunkirk was arraigned for aggravated unlicensed operation and returns to court Dec. 7.

Ebony Zrimsek, 18, of Andrus Circle, Silver Creek pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct and was fined $175.
