Blessed Mary Angela Rosary Society

Blessed Mary Angela Rosary Society met Monday at St. Hyacinth's Lyceum. Vice President Jane Szukala greeted the members and led members reciting the Rosary and saying prayers for ill and deceased members.

The opening prayer for the meeting was given by Marilyn Nalepa.

"Happy Birthday" was sung for Mary Dworak.

Secretary Carole Schiller reported the minutes of the Oct. 11 meeting. They were accepted as read by Joyce Tarnowski and Jenny Naruszewicz.

The treasurer's report was given by Lucille Bartkowski. Sandy Tapasto, Betty Kern and Nalepa made the acceptance motions. All present approved the facts as given.

The society's Christmas party will be held on Monday, Dec. 5, at 5 p.m. at the First Ward Falcon's Club. Gifts are to be given to the priests and nuns at Blessed Mary Angela Parish.

Sunshine chairman Szukala reported the illness of Genevieve Mleczko.

The attendance prize was won by Elvina Root. The closing prayer was read by Tarnowski.

A social hour followed with Bingo and a raffle with prizes.

Thanksgiving refreshments were served by Loretta Szalkowski, Joan Serafin, Irene Rozumalski, Rita Szot and Theresa Szocki.

Ladies Society of Blessed Mary Angela Parish

The Ladies Society of Blessed Mary Angela Parish met Wednesday at the social center.

President Carol Schiller offered a prayer titled "A prayer to Mary our Mother."

Reports were given by Secretary Jenny Naruszewicz, Treasurer Joan Zielinski, Financial Secretary Dorothy Sarzyniak and Sophie Urbanik, sunshine committee, respectively.

The society members will be selling the cash raffle tickets based on the lottery numbers beginning Jan. 1, 2012. On Sunday, Nov. 20, the members will attend the Holy Mass of Christ the King at 10:45 a.m. at the St. Hedwig's site.

The Ladies Society Christmas party will be Wednesday, Dec. 7, at 6 p.m. at the social center.

Sarzyniak concluded the meeting with a humorous poem, "The Flying Thanksgiving Turkey."

Angel food and pumpkin cake was served from a table covered with a yellow cloth centered with a large basket filled with assorted fresh fruit. Rust-colored candles in glass holders served as the centerpiece.

The officers of the society served on the refreshment committee. A raffle was held and many prizes were awarded. Zielinski won the fruit basket.
