SFC Joseph M. Seminatore has retired from the United States Army Reserve (USAR) after 23 years of service, for which 13 years he has been a drill instructor, and in his final year of service he held a first sergeant position.
He enlisted in the National Guard in 1988 and completed his Basic Training and AIT at Ft. Dix, N.J. In 1995, he transferred to the USAR, 98th Division. He has attended MOS and NCO training at Camp Grafton, ND and First Sgt. school at Fort Indiantown Gap, Pa.
While serving as a drill instructor, he was mobilized from February 2008 to February 2009 to Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., as a senior drill instructor with the 35th Engineer Brigade, in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
He and his wife, Erin, have been married for 18 years and reside in Westfield with their two daughters, Joanna and Rhiannon. He is the son of Anna Seminatore and the late Joseph F. Seminatore. He is also brother of the late Joanna M. Seminatore.
