Fredonia Presbyterian Church is holding its fifth annual Nativity Display and Christmas Festival on Saturday, Dec. 3, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 4, from noon to 2 p.m. There will be more than 175 nativities on display and they come from all over the world.
The Christmas Festival, or Alternative Christmas Market includes a variety of unique Christmas gifts. Hand-crafted gifts from all over the world are available. These items are purchased through special cooperatives so that the workers receive a just price for their work. Equal Exchange food items and food baskets are available including coffee, tea and chocolate. These food items are fairly traded so that, again, the worker or in this case farmer, receives a just price for his/her product. Christmas-themed craft items and Christmas themed book suggestions are also available. Alternative gifts include donations to Heifer Project and Rural Ministry of Northern Chautauqua County with gift cards available to send to the one honored with the donation.
There is no charge for this event and all are welcome. Light refreshments will be served.
